5 Tallest Buildings in the world

5 Tallest Buildings in the world
The skyscraper was born in the United States, but raised in Asia, where tall buildings seem to have become the only way to make a mark on the international scene.

1.Petronas Twin Towers-are twin skyscrapers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The site planning for PETRONAS Twin Towers began in January 1992, led by distinguished architect Cesar Pelli along with Deejay Cerico. Soaring to a height of 451.9 metres, the 88-storey twin structure is Kuala Lumpur's crown jewel. Excavators began digging down 30 metres below the surface of the site on March 1993. The work required moving over 500 truckloads of earth every night. Following that was the single, largest, and longest concrete pour ever in Malaysian history. 13,200 cubic metres of concrete was continuously poured per tower through a period of 54 hours. This record-breaking slab with 104 piles of concrete layers form the very foundation for the twin towers we see today. From this floor rose a 21 metre high retaining wall, with a perimeter length of over one kilometre. The construction of the superstructure commenced in April 1994 after passing multiple rigorous tests and simulations of wind and structural loads on the design. Finally in June 1996, Petronas Twin Towers was completed with its encasing in steel and glass.

2.  The Burj Khalifa-known as the Burj Dubai prior to its inauguration in 2010, is a skyscraper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. With a total height of 829.8 m. The Burj Khalifa has been the tallest structure and building in the world since its topping out in 2009. Construction began on 6 January 2004, with the exterior of the structure completed on 1 October 2009. The building officially opened on 4 January 2010. Burj Khalifa was designed to be the centerpiece of a large-scale, mixed-use development to include 30,000 homes, nine hotels, 3 hectares of parkland, at least 19 residential skyscrapers, the Dubai Mall, and the 12-hectare artificial Burj Khalifa Lake.

3. Shanghai Tower-the world's second-tallest building at present. Height-632 meters. Shanghai Tower is the tallest building in China and the second-tallest building in the world. Floors: 128 floors above ground and five below ground. Shanghai Tower has the highest indoor Chinese-style garden, Half Garden, which is on the 37th floor. The helical shape gives it an ultra-modern signature appearance. Shanghai Tower includes observatories, conference rooms, a hotel, meeting rooms, a museum, shops, restaurants, gardens, and a mall.
4. The Abraj Al-Bait-is a government-owned complex of seven skyscraper hotels in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. These towers are a part of the King Abdulaziz Endowment Project that aims to modernize the city in catering to its pilgrims. The tallest tower in the complex is the tallest building in Saudi Arabia, with a height of 601 metres. The project uses clock faces for each side of the main hotel tower. The highest residential floor stands at 370 m.
5. Lotte World Tower- skyscraper located in Seoul, South Korea.Height-555.7meters.
After 13 years of planning and site preparation, the tower gained final approval to start construction by the government in November 2010 and the first groundbreaking activities observed at the construction site in March. On March 17, 2016, prior to the final phase of external construction, the Diagrid lantern-shaped roof structure was completed. The roof structure was constructed with steel counterparts that are each 12 meters and weigh 20 tons.
